The race for Europe is hotly contested.

With PSG currently languishing in Ligue 1 and the chasing pack making a comeback, it’s time to get things moving again. Nothing could be better (or almost better), even if the mission is complicated, than to welcome Lyon. A deserved victory over the 5th-placed team would be a welcome boost to their league campaign, and a message to their rivals just before they take on Monaco (3rd) next Wednesday.)

Before that, the Parisians will know whether or not Olympique de Marseille (2nd) are closing in, while Lille (4th) look a tough proposition. There is, however, an advantage, as Lille play in the Champions League on Wednesday, while Marseille are quiet during the week. They are a little less relaxed at the Velodrome this season, even if they have finally won.

Monaco seem a little calmer, but Remis (9th) are not an easy team to face. They may have disappointed, but they know how to annoy everyone.

Nice (6th), in particular, must make the most of the weekend with a derby at Montpellier (18th). Just behind them, Lens (7th) and Auxerre (8th) both miss out on 3 points.

Brest must not miss out on a return to Ligue 1.

As for Rennes (12th), they need to reassure themselves when they welcome Angers (15th), except that this team has been doing a little better of late. There’s also an important duel between Strasbourg (14th) and Le Havre (17th), not forgetting Brest (11th), who host Nantes (13th), far from their dreams of qualifying for at least the Champions League’s top 24.
