On Matchday 16 of Ligue 1 2024-2025, Paris Saint-Germain already beat Monaco at the Stade Louis II on December 18, as they play this Sunday against the same opponents in Doha (17:30 French time) in the Champions Trophy. A match that has widened the gap between PSG and the rest of the league, while Monaco could be caught up and see OM pull away.

OM (2nd) appear to be in a good position to limit PSG’s escape, while overtaking Monaco more than on goal difference. Normally, the visit of Le Havre (17th) should end with 3 points. But soccer is far from simple, and Marseille have struggled at home in the first half of the season.

Lille (4th) are also in good shape when they host Nantes (14th), while Lyon (5th) welcome Montpellier (18th). Nice (6th) face Rennes (12th) and Lens (7th) take on Toulouse (9th), with the risk of the European places slipping further away.

One wonders whether Auxerre (8th) will be able to continue the surprise at Strasbourg (13th), a fine team from the start of the season who have struggled for consistency. Lastly, Angers (15th) and Saint-Etienne (16th) must try to pick up points against Brest (11th) and Reims (10th), while their rivals have big games on the agenda.
