Luis Enrique “I’m delighted and it’s interesting for everyone.”

How do new technologies contribute to your work?

Technology is involved in every aspect, like this press conference. I’ve always enjoyed innovating as a coach. It’s interesting to have this technology with the players and the club, like all possible knowledge. It’s positive for improving soccer and performance. I’m delighted and it’s interesting for everyone.

How do you keep up the momentum from late 2024 to 2025?

We’ve had a break, and now we’re back with a team with big goals, quality, very young players and others who can bring their experience to the table. We’re really looking forward to seeing the fans again. We’re lucky to be back in Qatar for this Champions Trophy, it’ll be a bit like the World Cup (smiles). We’ve got some exciting matches coming up!

Luis Enrique “It’s wonderful! It’s better when there are lots of games.

What kind of atmosphere are you expecting for this match, which has been postponed? Aren’t you worried that this Champions Trophy away from home might be a bit “hollow”? A chance to feel at home?

For us, it’s like playing at home, we have a direct relationship with this country. I don’t know what the atmosphere will be like, but I do know that they love our soccer. We saw that at the World Cup. It will be an eagerly awaited event. And of course, we hope to win.

What’s the key to managing an insane schedule?

It’s wonderful! It’s better when there are lots of games, because it means you’re qualified and it’s an important part of the season. It’s a month that everyone looks forward to.

Luis Enrique “The summer mercato is always difficult, the winter even more so.”

Have you passed on a desire to recruit to the club?

You know that the mercato is what it is. We’re always open to the idea of improving our squad. But I can only say that it’s a pleasure to have a team with this ambition and quality. It’s not easy to improve our team.

Great players aren’t usually available in this period. The summer mercato is always difficult, and the winter even more so. But I’ve seen the development of the team and I know that we’re going to improve our level of performance, which is already very high.
