Ligue 1 - Day 19 review: PSG pull away and Europe tightens up

PSG “missed out” between their two Champions League games with a draw against Reims. Nothing alarming or really very surprising, but there’s a touch of disappointment. Especially after leading 1-0. And then, of course, there are the 2 points lost. But the one taken keeps 2nd-placed Olympique de Marseille, who missed out on the derby with Nice, at bay. Les Aiglons confirmed their place in the European race.

Monaco finally got back on track with a hard-fought victory over Rennes, who continue to slide dangerously down the table, even if the content was more reassuring. The result puts them back in 3rd place ahead of Lille, who fell to Strasbourg after leading for long periods but conceding 2 goals in the 70th and 74th minutes.

Lyon failed to take advantage of the situation, however, with another slip-up. This time at 14th-placed Nantes, who took a precious point in a tight race for survival. Montpellier, who finally moved up from 18th place, won at Toulouse to take advantage of Le Havre’s defeat by Brest. Angers, on the other hand, were stopped in their tracks at Lens. As a result, Les Lensois are back on top. This time, they’ll need to keep it up.
