This Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain hosted Stade de Reims as part of the 19th day of Ligue 1 (1-1 video highlights PSG/Reims). On the sidelines of the match, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV about the result.

Enrique “We need to rest”.

“After and before the two Champions League matches, it was difficult and we knew it would be difficult because Reims is a team that defends well. It’s a shame because we scored a goal, and they quickly equalized. It’s a shame. We need to rest, we need to recover and get our heads into this very important Champions League match.”

Unfortunately, after the euphoria of a Champions League match and before another important meeting in this competition, it’s always difficult to concentrate on the champion. That’s what happened on Saturday. But with PSG now 10 points clear of the runners-up, it’s exactly the kind of result you need on the eve of a crucial match.

After their 4-2 win over Manchester City, the capital club must confirm their position against Stuttgart this Wednesday. PSG have their destiny in their own hands and must not let this qualification slip through their fingers. Let’s hope for another great European match, with a result that will allow PSG to reach the finals.
