Match schedule for Matchday 25.
With PSG’s sights firmly set on the Champions League, this trip to Rennes could prove a trap. Even so, coach Luis Enrique has set a certain standard to push the team to be competitive in every match. There will also no doubt be a bit of management involved, with a number of key players rested. Watch out for this trip to an opponent who has recently climbed back up the table, but who still needs to make progress if they are to confirm their survival as quickly as possible.
Behind them, Olympique de Marseille (2nd) must make further progress against RC Lens, who have slipped badly in the standings with 4 defeats in a row. A win at the Velodrome would do them a world of good.
3rd-placed Nice host 6th-placed OL, a game that will be crucial in the race for Europe. The result could split them into 2 parts, or tighten them up. Toulouse (8th) could also hang on with a big win over Monaco (4th). It all depends on the form of Monaco’s irregulars.
In Europe, Lille (5th) and Strasbourg (7th) are favourites against Montpellier (18th) and Nantes (14th). However, Ligue 1 is not without its surprises, and Lille also have to deal with their Champions League “in-between”. Strasbourgeois, for their part, need to win in order to remain well-placed for European qualification.
Last but not least, Le Havre (16th) and Saint-Etienne (17th) have a vital duel on their hands. There are still a few matches to go, but this meeting already has the flavour of a decider.
