PSG played well, even if we would have liked to see a little more pace, to put pressure on Olympique de Marseille. The trip to Brest is never easy, so a 3-0 victory is nothing to be sniffed at.
Especially when it allows them to take advantage of Olympique de Marseille’s defeat in Lens to regain first place. It was a match with regrets for Marseille, who dominated but lacked success. Even if Lens, now in second place, did not win by luck alone. They are a great team to be taken very seriously.
The same goes for Lille, who were clear favorites against Metz, ranked 18th, but managed to secure a stylish victory. This confirms their place in the European race, where Lyon struck hard yesterday in a very close match (4 shots to 5 in favor of Strasbourg). They had to fight hard to respond to the inevitable opening goal from Joaquin Panichelli. But Lyon managed to do so, with the “help” of Ismaël Doukouré: an own goal in the 31st minute, then a red card in the 67th. And it was in added time that the winning goal came.
Behind them, Monaco are also worth watching, as they didn’t really shine against Toulouse (the match was not particularly exciting overall), but took three valuable points. However, questions remain about Monaco’s consistency.
As for staying up, Lorient suffered another setback, with a certain amount of frustration as they dominated but lacked efficiency against Angers, who are well on their way to being a direct competitor in the race. Auxerre may feel much the same after their home defeat against Le Havre.
