On Matchday 7 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain face Strasbourg at the Stade de la Meinau this Saturday at 5:15 PM CET. It is a match sandwiched between two Champions League clashes—one that must be managed effectively to climb the table.

An away trip to Strasbourg is never easy, let alone in the midst of a demanding Champions League schedule (Manchester City last Wednesday, FC Barcelona this Tuesday). PSG will need to stay fully focused on this encounter and will likely utilize their entire squad to maintain momentum. On a positive note for the Parisians, Strasbourg is currently in a slump (one draw followed by two defeats). However, caution is advised; this is also a prime opportunity for the hosts to get their season back on track.

A victory should allow Paris to climb further up the standings, especially as their rivals face tough fixtures while also juggling European commitments. AS Monaco (1st) face a perilous trip to Lorient (8th), who recently took down Paris FC. The latter (5th) will be looking to bounce back, though they face a formidable opponent in Rennes (3rd).

In any case, PSG could capitalize on the situation. Lille (2nd) must also be wary of Brest (7th), an impressive side that recently thrashed Angers 5–1. Finally, Olympique Lyonnais will be aiming to return to winning ways, though Nice (9th) arrive full of confidence after two consecutive victories they will be keen to build upon.

Further down the table, the clashes between Le Havre (18th) and Auxerre (16th), Angers (12th) and OM (13th), as well as Le Mans (14th) and Toulouse (15th), will be crucial in determining which teams can catch a bit of breathing room. Or worry.
