On Matchday 18 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 3-0 victory against Lille at the Parc des Princes. This win keeps them in contention with Lens, who are currently showing no signs of letting up. Olympique de Marseille (OM) also remain close behind.

PSG delivered on Friday with a well-deserved victory against a LOSC side that was otherwise quite organized. The Parisians displayed great focus and were particularly strong in the second half. This bodes very well for the future. They will need to maintain this momentum, as the title race remains tight.

Indeed, Lens got the job done at home against Auxerre. It wasn’t a brilliant performance, but the points were earned and were far from undeserved. This marks their eighth consecutive league victory, which is impressive. Auxerre tried hard, but they seemed to lack the necessary firepower. They therefore remain in the relegation zone.

Lorient, who have made a strong comeback in recent weeks, have continued their impressive run, which was confirmed in Monaco, where the crisis persists and is causing them concern about their European qualification hopes.

This competition now revolves around Marseille, who secured their third place after another spectacular match. With their 5-2 victory against Angers, Marseille reclaimed the title of Ligue 1’s top scorer, compensating for their sometimes shaky defense.

Lyon didn’t succumb to this pressure, despite a late scare when Brest pulled a goal back after receiving a red card in the 19th minute. Lyon capitalized on this to take a 2-0 lead at halftime, but their performance faltered afterward. This should serve as a cautionary tale for the future.

Behind them, Strasbourg and Toulouse managed to close the gap somewhat with wins against struggling Metz and Nice, respectively. They will need to build on this momentum to fully rejoin the title race. Sixth-placed Rennes could only manage a 1-1 draw against Le Havre despite dominating possession. This lack of clinical finishing contrasts sharply with their recent form. For Le Havre, this point is a welcome boost in their fight against relegation. Meanwhile, Paris FC pulled off the biggest upset of the weekend, securing a hard-fought victory in Nantes.
