Pedro Fernandez Sarmiento, often called Dro Fernandez, is reportedly very close to joining Paris Saint-Germain this winter. The 18-year-old midfielder doesn’t want to extend his contract with FC Barcelona, which expires in 2027, and has a €6 million release clause that PSG is expected to trigger. Journalist Nicolò Schira claims the deal is done.
This is further confirmation, enough to be very optimistic. Almost certain, but it’s never truly official until it’s official. We’ve seen some major twists and turns in football before. PSG should welcome this young talent, hoping to nurture his development and fully realize his potential.
With his technical skills and versatility, we suspect he could have some great opportunities in Paris. Strengthening the squad a little more could be beneficial, especially in this season without summer preparation.
