As it does after each round of league matches, L’Équipe has drawn up its team of the 23rd day of Ligue 1 2024-2025, which was played over the weekend (find results and standings here). With their 2-3 victory over Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon/PSG video summary) at Groupama Stadium, Paris Saint-Germain saw 3 of their players selected: Gianluigi Donnarumma (25-year-old goalkeeper), Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back) and Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker).
Presences that seem logical enough in this standard team. When PSG suffered more, Donnarumma was excellent to avoid losing points. Although he conceded 2 goals, he couldn’t do much about it. It’s good to remember great saves. Hakimi scored a brace to reward his tireless efforts. As for Dembélé, it wasn’t his most memorable game, but he did score a classy goal.
We’re a little surprised not to see one of the Parisian midfielders in this selection, but especially Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24-year-old striker). He was a real pain for the Lyon team in his creative and defensive efforts.
But other Ligue 1 players also deserved to be honored. So much the better, there’s a lot of quality in this league, despite certain “rumors”.
