As it does after each round of league matches, L’Équipe has drawn up its squad list for Matchday 16 of Ligue 1 2024-2025, which was played out over the weekend (find results and standings here). With their 2-4 victory over Monaco at the Stade Louis II, Paris Saint-Germain saw 2 of their players selected: Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back) and Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker).
Their presence in the team seems logical, given Dembélé’s and Hakimi’s impressive performances against Monaco before the summer break. This was enough to hurt what was Ligue 1’s best defense before the match, on a par with PSG.
Perhaps other players, such as Désiré Doué (19-year-old midfielder/attacker), could also have made a claim. But it’s also important to recognize other Ligue 1 players for their fine performances. AS Saint-Etienne and Olympique de Marseille in particular, both of whom scored some fine victories.
