Every month, the UNFP organizes the election of the best player in Ligue 1. For January 2025, a Paris Saint-Germain player was in the final: Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker). He was up against Emanuel Emegha (21-year-old Strasbourg striker) and Evann Guessand (23-year-old OGC Nice striker). It was the Parisian player who came out on top.
It’s a victory that seems well-deserved, given Dembélé’s habit of impressing in 2025. Although it’s likely that his performances in the Champions League and his hat-trick against Brest on February 1 (2-5) influenced the votes, even though these games shouldn’t be taken into account. But he may also have won without them, although the competition was of course interesting.
It’s a great reward for the striker, even if it’s only an honorary title. What really counts are the collective trophies to be won at the end of the season. With a strong collective and individuals as in-form as Dembélé, there’s hope for PSG.
