On Friday at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, Paris Saint-Germain drew 2-2 against Lille in Matchday 2 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. Here are the ratings awarded by Le Parisien and L’Équipe to the capital club’s players.

Vitinha saves a performance that was lackluster for long stretches

PSG enjoyed plenty of possession without truly threatening the opposition. With 73% possession and 18 shots—but only four on target—Paris occupied the pitch more than they dominated Lille. Trailing 2-0 as stoppage time began, the Parisians managed to snatch a draw thanks to goals from Vitinha and then Marquinhos. This turn of events explains the generally low ratings, though two key players stood out from the rest.

Vitinha stands out; Marquinhos proves decisive

Vitinha logically tops both sets of ratings with a 7. Initially positioned quite high up the pitch, he lacked influence for a long spell before becoming much more dangerous after dropping deeper following Beraldo’s substitution. His six shots, 105 completed passes out of 114, and—above all—his superb goal just before the corner that led to the equalizer fully justify this score. Marquinhos follows with a 6 from both publications: caught out for the opening goal, he recovered well and ultimately saved Paris with a header.

A defense too often put under pressure

Pacho drops to 4 and 3.5, and Beraldo to 3 and 3.5, while Zaïre-Emery receives a 3 and a 4 in an unfamiliar left-back role. Yet Lille did not create a multitude of chances, making the two goals conceded all the more concerning. Safonov, rated 4 and 5, seems somewhat harshly judged in the first set of ratings; he notably pulled off a big save against Giroud and could do little about the two goals conceded.

Divergent views on Ferran and Doué

The biggest discrepancies appear in the attack. Ferran Torres goes from a 3 to a 5: he had three off-target shots but made plenty of runs and showed real activity. The 3 seems harsh, whereas the 5 better rewards his work rate while acknowledging his lack of precision. It is the opposite for Doué, rated 5 and 3: substituted at halftime after having little impact, his higher rating seems generous. Akliouche, rated 4 and 4.5, leaves a more consistent impression: some good link-up play, but still too little impact.

Luis Enrique’s substitutions pay off

Kvaratskhelia, who came on at halftime and was included in the average ratings, received a 4 and a 5 without truly changing the game. Subsequent adjustments mattered more: dropping Vitinha deeper, moving Zaïre-Emery back into midfield, and stacking the team with attacking players. The rating of 4 given to Luis Enrique by L’Équipe sums up his evening well: an unconvincing initial game plan, but substitutions that ultimately got Paris back on the right track. The average scores of 4.42 and 4.75 tell the same story: a PSG side that was disappointing for long stretches but was saved very late on by its key players.
