As part of Matchday 10 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain traveled to face FC Lorient and had to settle for a 1–1 draw. After the game, PSG coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV about his team’s performance and the result.
Luis Enrique: “It’s difficult to attack against a low block if you don’t have one-on-ones”
“It’s a shame, because I think we had a very poor first half — we didn’t create any chances. In the second half, we improved a little, but not enough to win the match. It’s difficult to attack against a low block if you don’t have one-on-one situations, if you don’t make your usual movements, if you lack mobility and can’t control the opponent’s progression.”
Luis Enrique: “Points are important, especially at this stage.”
“It’s a shame because we scored, but on the very next action, they equalized. It ends in a draw, and that’s disappointing because points are important, especially right now.”
Midweek matches, especially at unusual kickoff times, are always hard to manage. After an intense and demanding previous season, the capital club naturally struggles when matches come every three days.
The biggest concern, beyond the dropped points, is Désiré Doué’s injury, whose severity remains unknown. PSG must now quickly refocus and return to winning ways this weekend against Nice, before a crucial Champions League clash with Bayern Munich..
