Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday to close out the 23rd day of Ligue 1 (2-3 video highlights Lyon/PSG). After the match, Luis Enrique, coach of the capital club, spoke to PSG TV. He stressed that this match should be used to improve, although there could have been better management.
Luis Enrique: “It’s another proof of character”.
“It was a complicated match, with a lot of moments of pressure, and moments we have to control. But I think we have a team with personality, and we’re very happy with this result.
Every match is an opportunity to grow. Today, we had to defend in the final minutes, which is not something I like! But at the same time, it’s another proof of character and I’m happy.”
It was a fine victory for PSG, who are gaining further momentum in this championship and gradually closing in on the title. Facing Olympique Lyonnais away from home is never an easy game. Winning in these conditions is therefore a very good sign, even if the end of the match was more complicated for the Parisian team.
We’ve got one deadline after another, and it’s very important that we keep up this momentum of confidence. Taking a lead also gives PSG the opportunity to rotate their squad when the games come thick and fast. Sunday’s result was therefore a positive one, even if there are obviously still areas for improvement for this young Parisian team.
