Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday to close out the 23rd day of Ligue 1 (2-3 video highlights Lyon/PSG). Speaking to PSG TV, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 24-year-old Parisian striker who scored an assist, reflected on his side’s success.
Kvaratskhelia “We show every game that we’re a good team”.
“It was a tough match, the last few minutes were complicated because they attacked with all their players, and we defended. But the most important thing is that we won today and took all three points.
We’re continuing to move forward. The team is very strong. We’re showing in every game that we’re a good team, we’ve got to keep going like this, and I think we’re playing some very fine soccer.”
Match after match, PSG maintain the confidence and momentum that have enabled them to string together a string of victories. Sunday’s match was understandably difficult, particularly towards the end. But facing OL away from home is never easy, and to come away with all three points is a very positive sign.
Obviously, this Parisian team will gradually turn their attention to the Champions League, which remains their main objective this season. But winning this kind of Ligue 1 fixture is still very important, and is bound to give them confidence going into these knockout matches.
