Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 25-year-old forward for Paris Saint-Germain and the Georgian national team, sustained a severe injury during the 4-2 victory over FC Barcelona (on Matchday 3 of the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase): a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee. He has since undergone surgery, which, according to an official statement from PSG, was successful.
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has successfully undergone surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee at the ASPETAR hospital in Doha, Qatar. He will now begin his rehabilitation.”
This is relatively good news, as there were no complications for Kvaratskhelia. Unfortunately, it does not change the fact that he now faces a long recovery period and a great deal of hard work before he can return to the pitch. We wish him all the best and much strength.
