Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 25-year-old forward for Paris Saint-Germain and Georgia, sustained a severe injury during the 4-2 victory over FC Barcelona (on Matchday 3 of the 2026-2027 Champions League league phase): a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee. As confirmed by PSG, he will now undergo surgery. L’Équipe reported this Sunday that the procedure will take place in Qatar in the coming days.
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is set to undergo surgery in the next few days. The procedure is scheduled for early this week in Doha, Qatar, at the Aspetar clinic. The exact date of the operation has not been disclosed.”
While not official, this comes as little surprise. PSG has long utilized the Aspetar clinic for medical care, particularly in cases involving major injuries. Unfortunately, Kvaratskhelia now faces a difficult challenge; however, he will be in the best possible hands, and there is no doubt that he will receive ongoing support from both the club and his teammates.
