This Saturday, the women’s teams of Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais will face each other at the Parc OL stadium (broadcast on CET) at 9 PM, during the 3rd matchday of the 2025-2026 Arkéma Women’s Division 1. This match was discussed by PSG coach Paulo César on PSG TV. He emphasized the contribution of the recent signings and the team’s determination to maintain its playing style, regardless of the opponent’s quality.

New additions to the squad.

“How was the training week?”

“Very good! We worked hard, had many discussions, and the players’ feedback is very positive. After an important victory, it was important to have a week of relaxation and to prepare for the upcoming matches.”

“Yaya and Isabela have joined the group, as has Olga Carmona. What are your impressions of them?”

“It’s very positive because they are two Brazilian players we have been watching for a long time. They are quality players. As for Olga, she is a World Champion; we know her qualities. She will strengthen us and will be very important for the team.”

César: “We won’t change our approach based on the opponent’s level.”

“What is the team’s mindset going into the match against Lyon?”

“I feel my team is very focused, very attentive to what could happen during this match. We will prepare well, and I have no doubt that we can play a very good match. We will go there and try to play with our strengths, with our identity.

We won’t change our approach based on the opponent’s level. For me, all teams have the same weight, the same importance. We have to play for the three points; we will do our best.”

We can appreciate Paulo César’s approach of not making too much of the match against Lyon, even though it is, of course, a formidable opponent. He knows this; he is well aware of the challenges ahead. But precisely for that reason, it’s best not to get too worked up, not to put unnecessary pressure on themselves. PSG will approach this match with their usual philosophy and the desire to perform well.

All while being ready to fight, against an Olympique Lyon team that possesses qualities that, of course, will require a significant effort. For this match and the rest of the season, the Parisian team has been well-reinforced. Now they need to work to their best potential and approach this match under optimal conditions. It will be difficult to get a positive result, but it’s far from impossible.
