On Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 4-2 victory over Manchester City on Matchday 2 of the 2026-2027 Champions League. As we now do following every match, we asked our readers to vote for the best Paris Saint-Germain player of the game. Désiré Doué (a 21-year-old midfielder/forward) came out on top.

A great success for Doué, who is coming off a period marked by significant criticism. He had been lacking decisive contributions, but in this match, he truly shone—all while continuing to put in the necessary defensive work. It is heartening to see him in such good form.
Of course, other players could have been singled out following this match, which featured a superb collective performance in the first half, followed by a second half that required more grit. It is actually a positive sign that it’s difficult to highlight just a few individuals; on the whole, everyone rose to the occasion on this big night. Vitinha (the 26-year-old midfielder) took a well-deserved second place—it was certainly earned. Meanwhile, the battle for third place was extremely tight.
Thank you all for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are used to determine the “Player of the Month” award.
