Kylian Mbappé, the 26-year-old France forward, is now at Real Madrid following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain. However, not everything has yet been settled between the player and the club where he spent 7 years. The French international is in financial dispute with Paris over unpaid wages and bonuses, despite PSG’s belief that an agreement had been reached. Recently, his lawyers announced an offensive with several procedures launched. PSG immediately responded to AFP.
“Paris SG ”will go to the prud’hommes with no problem”, a source close to the club’s management told AFP on Thursday, after learning of Kylian Mbappé’s referral to the court concerning 55 million euros in unpaid wages and bonuses.
“The prud’hommes will see all the evidence and decide”, and Kylian Mbappé “is not going to win”, added this source. PSG -which has refused to pay- has been arguing since the start of the dispute, which began before the sporting authorities after the player’s departure in the summer of 2024, for its resolution before the industrial tribunal”, relays L’Equipe.
We expected a reaction, but it was swift. It has to be said that PSG was able to prepare for the fact that a press conference was scheduled for Thursday. And the matter has been going on long enough for each party to be “ready”. At least, each seems confident. Where exactly this will lead remains to be seen.
This battle is, of course, beyond our competence, and seems complex even to those who have all the facts. We have to make do with what emerges, the mixture of indications from the club and Mbappé’s clan, which obviously don’t all point in the same direction.
For the time being, PSG can be trusted not to put themselves at risk. Which doesn’t mean they’ll win the case, but they’ve probably prepared themselves financially for a defeat.
Media reports indicate that the 55 million euros at the heart of the dispute are ready. Now we wait for the rest. Hoping, almost vainly, that it won’t be too long. We can’t wait to fully turn the page on Mbappé.
