Kylian Mbappé, the 27-year-old French national team striker, has now joined Real Madrid following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain. However, the situation between the player and the club where he spent seven years is not yet resolved. The French international is in a financial dispute with PSG over unpaid bonuses and wages. The labor court ruled that PSG was obligated to pay this money. The player’s camp now believes there is a shortfall, and a bailiff has been sent to collect the outstanding amount. PSG responded to L’Equipe.
“The capital club now has eight days.”
At the end of December 2025, the Paris labor court ordered PSG to pay €60.9 million to its former striker, including €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, plus accrued vacation pay and interest amounting to approximately €5.9 million. The provisional enforcement of the judgment had been requested. But Paris only paid the initial €55 million, not the final installment.
The capital club now has eight days to settle what it owes to the French national team captain, who now plays for Real Madrid. If it fails to do so, Mbappé’s lawyers can seize this sum from PSG’s accounts.
“PSG was surprised by Mbappé’s actions.”
When contacted, PSG expressed surprise at Mbappé’s actions: “As we have always said, Paris Saint-Germain will comply with the judgment issued by the labor court, while reserving the right to appeal. The club has always acted in good faith and with integrity, and will continue to do so. All salaries and bonuses owed to Kylian Mbappé have been paid in full by Paris Saint-Germain.” “Regarding paid leave and the publication of the judgment on the website’s homepage? Discussions are underway with the player’s representatives regarding the terms of payment for the remaining sums.” Several sources deny this last point.
It was hoped that the case would finally be closed after the labor court’s ruling, unless PSG were to attempt an appeal. But the conflict will clearly drag on as long as possible, with disagreements arising on every point. The player and his entourage believe that Paris is behind schedule, while the club considers itself to be on time.
It remains difficult to get a clear picture; we prefer to let the legal process run its course and would appreciate it if the Mbappé camp were less aggressive in this matter. We hope that PSG is handling things properly, even if this may be an unpleasant experience.
