PSG recorded 40 touches in the opposition box yesterday against Monaco (8 for ASM), including 9 by Hakimi. In total, PSG has tallied 92 touches to their opponents’ 35, yet has secured zero wins.
Dominance that isn’t reflected on the scoreboard
The statistic speaks volumes. Paris spends far more time than its opponents in dangerous areas, yet this territorial superiority isn’t enough. Against Monaco, the Parisians once again spent much of the match camped around the opposition box without managing to decisively take the lead on the scoreboard.
The current problem seems to stem less from PSG’s ability to advance and enter the box than from what they produce once they reach those final few meters.
