Having arrived at the summer mercato in July 2023 from Mallorca, 24-year-old Korean midfielder Lee Kang-In is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028, and is playing more in the 2024-2025 season than in his irregular first season. But that’s not quite convincing everyone, which is attracting rumors around the mercato. This Tuesday, Corriere dello Sport reports that Napoli are on the verge of a possible transfer.
“He is not indifferent to Napoli’s wooing, on the contrary, but the starting valuation is quite high: around 40 million. Very negotiable, given the latest technical developments and the player’s desire. Which will be fundamental.”
Please note, this is just a rumour. So there’s no sudden certainty. But it’s a relatively credible announcement. Napoli will logically be looking to recruit, and Lee’s creativity may appeal. As well as his never-say-die fighting spirit.
And the Korean may well be open to a new adventure after being pushed into the role of understudy in Paris. But that’s not all. The player can fight for playing time in this fine PSG team. Which has not officially opened the door to a transfer.
A lot can still happen, and the PSG mercato is still very much in the hands of the media and fans. But there’s nothing concrete. And Paris could yet surprise.
