Carlos Soler, the 27-year-old midfielder who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 from Valencia with a contract running until 2027, failed to convince on the pitch and was loaned out to West Ham for the 2024-2025 season. This adventure is going well and could turn into a permanent transfer. Le Parisien confirmed this on Saturday.
“After a slow start at West Ham, the Spanish midfielder, still in search of a Premier League goal, has earned his place. In recent days, the English club has initiated the first exchanges to keep him.
At the time of his arrival at the Hammers, the two clubs had discussed a 20 million purchase option, which the London team may well exercise.”
Having struggled at PSG, Soler is once again able to express his qualities with the Premier League club. It’s not hard to imagine that the club would like to keep the Spaniard, a very good footballer when he’s confident.
We can always regret that he was in a team with such a chaotic collective at Paris. But that’s the way it is, not every adventure can be a success. At the very least, if this exit door is confirmed, PSG will be able to recover the transfer price from Valencia.
But let’s wait before rejoicing, as there’s nothing official yet. Even so, Soler’s recent playing time has been encouraging.
