Marie-Antoinette Katoto, 26-year-old striker for Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team, is at the end of her contract with the French capital. This time, according to Le Parisien, she is set to leave the club. And Olympique Lyonnais would be well placed to recruit her.
“Everybody knows it, but nobody wants to make it official.
“Barring a huge surprise, Marie-Antoinette Katoto will leave her parent club on July 1, 2025. The consequence of a total absence of discussions between the two parties for almost two years. As in 2022, OL is in the running.
Marie-Antoinette Katoto and the PSG women’s team will soon be over. The striker made her decision several weeks ago, and her club has understood and even accepted it. Basically, everyone knows it, but nobody wants to make it official.”
Unfortunately, Katoto’s departure this summer seems fairly certain. Her recent comments do not give cause for optimism, and it’s hard to imagine that the current season will help convince one of our top strikers to stay. Indeed, this is a global concern for the Parisian project, which for years has been unable to find the stability to move forward.
We suspect that Lyon are in the picture, as they have already managed to recapture a number of great players on their way out of the capital. Recruiting Katoto would be a major coup. But beware, it’s not a done deal yet, and other clubs could have their say. Perhaps PSG, in a surprising scenario, but it’s best to prepare for the future.
