Renato Sanches, the 26-year-old midfielder, joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 from LOSC (contract runs until 2027) with the expectation that he would bring his percussion and decisive moves. However, he has been plagued by injury. And he is set to leave after a very mixed loan spell at AS Roma. Journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests that he is close to a deal with Benfica, his club of origin.

“It’s not just the João Neves dossier at PSG that needs to be wrapped up in the next few days.
Benfica are close to settling the Renato Sanches affair with his agent, so as to involve the former Bayern midfielder in the João Neves deal. It’s almost there”.
It’s hard to know how closely the two transfers are linked, as some media outlets have insisted that they are not. But with players going the opposite way, it’s reasonable to think there are at least some links.
In any case, Sanches is closing in on this rather nice way out. The midfielder will be returning to a context he knows well and in which he had shone. We hope that this will help him avoid any further physical problems, so that he can finally get back into the game. A chance to showcase his talent once again, which has always been undeniable.
