Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea’s 27-year-old attacking midfielder and striker (contract runs until 2029), has been mentioned as a possible target for his parent club Paris Saint-Germain this winter, despite his desire for more playing time. Journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed on Monday that there is indeed an interest. But it will be difficult to get a transfer.
“PSG are interested in Christopher Nkunku. No approach from Chelsea yet. The CFC doesn’t want Nkunku to leave, so any exit would have to be motivated by the player.”
Nothing impossible, since Nkunku is an interesting player with a profile that could fit into the Parisian squad (versatile, capable of being decisive, skilled in combinations…). But there’s nothing certain either.
There has been no official confirmation of Parisian interest, and the transfer looks set to be rather complicated. Chelsea don’t “need” to sell, and Nkunku has plenty of playing time, even if he’s not a Premier League star. Mind you, the door is not closed. But we’re a long way from an agreement.
