Franco Mastantuono, a 17-year-old attacking midfielder under contract to River Plate until December 2026, is a new talent on the Argentine soccer scene. Lately, he has been rumored to be one of Paris Saint-Germain’s concrete leads for the mercato. Journalists Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio now confirm that PSG are making progress in this dossier.
“Paris Saint-Germain in concrete talks to recruit Franco Mastantuono”
« « Le Paris Saint-Germain est en discussion concrète pour recruter Franco Mastantuono »
« Mastantuono will go to PSG. »
“Mastantuono will go to PSG. The Parisians have reached an agreement with the player. There’s a story: Como would have paid the 45 million clause and was close to having the player’s agreement. But PSG did it first and will dispose of the Argentine from January 1, 2026″.”
It’s not yet an official confirmation, either from one of the clubs or from the player, but it’s still an important statement from two well-known journalists. They rarely agree on a random negotiation.
Be careful, though: we’ve already seen Di Marzio be a little too assertive too soon. Let’s remain cautious, it’s not a done deal yet. But Mastantuono could well be one of PSG’s next recruits. We’ll have to be patient, though, as there is talk of an arrival date of January 2026, as happens with South American players on a different calendar (the season is played throughout the year).
In any case, Paris is holding on to an immense talent for the present and the future. Which fits in well with its project.
