Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 25-year-old goalkeeper who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 with a contract running until 2026 (following the end of his own at AC Milan), is regularly called into question by fans and observers alike. Even so, an extension is under discussion, but it’s proving rather difficult. His agent even spoke of a situation on “stand-by” for some time. However, RMC Sport claims that his latest performances, which have been hailed by the dressing room, make an extension more than possible.
“Optimism is high regarding Donnarumma’s extension. Donnarumma’s performance is praised in the dressing room.”
Donnarumma is either the most underrated goalkeeper of the moment, or one of the best in the world. It all depends on the performance and the moment. For all that, he’s a great keeper with nothing left to prove. It would be logical to extend his stay at PSG, as he loves the club and is appreciated in the dressing room. He’s not quite Luis Enrique’s type, but he also knows how to impose himself through his state of mind.
It’s logical to see PSG asking questions, but Donnarumma, although sometimes disappointing (which goalkeeper isn’t sometimes) remains a sure bet. It’s hard to argue that another goalkeeper would add real value.
