Marco Asensio, Paris Saint-Germain’s 28-year-old midfielder/attacker under contract until 2026, has been struggling of late and has been rather sidelined by coach Luis Enrique. So the idea of a mercato departure is taking hold. Le Parisien confirmed this Friday that the player is ready to leave and that he has a number of leads, including Aston Villa.
“Now open to a departure and keeping an eye on the market, the number 11 is not leaving some suitors completely unmoved. A three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, Marco Asensio is attracting interest on the transfer market, particularly from England. As revealed by RMC Sport, Aston Villa are one of the clubs interested in the Spanish international with 38 caps. ”
Nothing impossible, but we always remain cautious as there can be no certainties without concrete elements. Even so, it’s logical that the Spanish international should be on his way out, given that he’s hardly playing at all.
We’ll have to wait and see what Asensio’s future holds, with several possibilities but also a significant salary that could be a stumbling block.
