Nordi Mukiele, the 27-year-old central defender/lateral midfielder, arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, but hasn’t made a name for himself. Hampered by injuries, especially in 2023, and little used by coach Luis Enrique, he has been loaned out to Bayer Leverkusen without an option to buy, even though his contract runs out in June 2027. Kicker reports this Wednesday that the German club has already made its choice.
“Mukiele should stay at Leverkusen!
The German club is currently negotiating with PSG and pushing to recruit him quickly!
The player has made a success of his loan and the German club wants to have him on a long-term basis.

Mukiele has been quite successful on loan, with interesting playing time and performances. So it makes sense that Bayer Leverkusen are already thinking about keeping him. A swift negotiation could avoid the unpleasant surprise of another club going ahead this summer.
In any case, we can’t really imagine a return of the defender to PSG, so much has he been sidelined by coach Luis Enrique. He seems to be enjoying himself at the German club, so it would be relatively logical to see him stay. Let’s wait and see, though, as there’s nothing official yet. Negotiations between the two clubs seem possible, but the agreement is not a foregone conclusion.
