As the 2024-2025 winter mercato draws ever closer (January), the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. Today, RB Sport is reporting that PSG are ready to make a move for Eduard Spertsyan, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder from Armenia and Krasnodar (contract until 2026).
“PSG are reportedly ready to offer Krasnodar €20 million for Eduard Spertsyan.
Although the Russian club’s president, Sergei Galitsky, prefers not to sell his player this winter, an offer of this magnitude could convince him to let him go”
We were surprised by the recruitment of Matvey Safonov (25-year-old goalkeeper) from Krasnodar this summer, so we can’t say that the arrival of Spertsyan is impossible. But it would be another big surprise, given how little the player is known in France. And we can’t say he’s particularly young.
But perhaps the management and staff have found the qualities they’re looking for, including versatility (he can play on the flanks) at an affordable price. Sometimes, a great talent reveals itself “late in the game”, like Mohamed Salah or Viktor Gyökeres.
We remain cautious, however, as this is just a rumour at the moment. There’s no certainty whatsoever, and there are already plenty of leads in PSG’s sights with almost a month to go before the mercato.
