Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, SSC Napoli’s 23-year-old striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. PSG came back this winter, and this time the Neapolitan club opened up to the Georgian’s desire to leave. After the foreign media, L’Equipe and Le Parisien have now confirmed that the deal is almost complete. The agreement between the clubs is expected this Tuesday.
L’Equipe :
“Monday delivered the denouement to the transfer of Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli to Paris Saint-Germain. The two clubs traded throughout the day to reach an agreement in principle of around €70m, excluding bonuses.
However, the deal is not yet complete. The directors and legal departments still have to agree on the financial details. Kvaratskhelia (23, under contract until June 2027) has not yet been authorized by his management to travel to the French capital for his medical. Both parties assured us on Monday evening that it was only a matter of time before these details were sorted out.”
Le Parisien :
“Paris and Napoli will finalize the last details on Tuesday for the transfer of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The two clubs have agreed on a fee of €70 million.”
Nothing is certain yet, since the announcement is not official. But there is more than a slight doubt. All the media agree that on the same day, the day of a new discussion between the two clubs, the deal is almost complete. It would be surprising if Kvaratskhelia were not to sign for PSG.
We’ll just have to wait and see, with a slight fear of a nasty surprise. Above all, we should soon be able to welcome the Georgian international to Paris.
