Vitinha arrived in the summer mercato in July 2022 from FC Porto with a contract running until 2027, and has gone from strength to strength at Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old midfielder’s rise to prominence with the arrival of coach Luis Enrique in 2023 is notable. It should lead to a contract extension, but there’s no official announcement yet. According to AS, the Portuguese is even in the sights of Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid are interested in Vitinha to strengthen their midfield.
The idea is for the club to recruit a player with good ball skills, good vision and the ability to organize play..diarioas”
We’re cautious, it’s just a rumour at the moment. We know enough about the mercato to know that it doesn’t give us any certainties. However, Vitinha certainly has the qualities to attract big clubs.
Hence the interest in a contract extension, which seemed a foregone conclusion until recently. But there’s still some doubt, as PSG have not yet communicated any news on the subject. Perhaps this interest from Real Madrid is only being mentioned in the meantime, or perhaps it will become a cause for concern. Let’s hope that the Parisian club will set the record straight soon.
