This Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain (2nd in Ligue 1) faces Monaco (8th) at the Stade Louis II in the first leg (Kick-off is at 9 pm, CET) of their 2025-2026 Champions League playoff tie (return leg on February 25th). On Saturday evening, L’Equipe reported that PSG has no concerns about João Neves, despite the shoulder pain he experienced on Friday in Rennes (3-1 defeat, Matchday 22 of Ligue 1).
“His condition does not appear to be a cause for particular concern.
His presence in the PSG squad for the trip to Monaco on Tuesday evening (9 pm) for the first leg of the Champions League playoffs is not in doubt at this stage.”
Nothing is certain without an official medical update, but there is certainly optimism surrounding Neves and PSG. That’s good news, especially since there was some concern seeing him leave the field against Rennes with a noticeable strain. But it was probably just a knock. We’ll wait before celebrating too soon; we’ve seen some big surprises regarding a player’s fitness before. As a reminder, there was some doubt about Ousmane Dembélé’s (the 28-year-old striker) availability.
