On Saturday at the Stade Louis II, Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-0 to Monaco in Matchday 14 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. Here are the player ratings given by Le Parisien and L’Équipe to the capital club’s players.

Contents
Le Parisien:L’Equipe:

Le Parisien:

Kvaratskhelia (4.5) – Mayulu (3.5) – Lee (4)

Ruiz (3.5) – Vitinha (5.5) – Neves (4)

Hernandez (4) – Pacho (4.5) – Marquinhos (5) – Zaïre-Emery (4)

Chevalier (5.5)

L’Equipe:

Luis Enrique – 3

Kvaratskhelia (3) – Mayulu (3) – Lee (4)

Ruiz (5) – Vitinha (6) – Neves (3)

Hernandez (4) – Pacho (3) – Marquinhos (4) – Zaïre-Emery (4)

Chevalier (5)

L’Équipe didn’t just hand out bad ratings after Monaco-PSG: they describe a match where Paris was dominated in every aspect, and where the context further reinforces the The severity of the assessment. Monaco had suffered three defeats but approached this match as a much-anticipated comeback, with constant pressure that stifled Paris’s play. As a result, the three forwards never found space or rhythm, perfectly reflecting the offensive inefficiency seen on the pitch.

In midfield, the contrast was stark: Vitinha (6) stood out for L’Equipe, but the other two were stifled, proof that Monaco’s intensity deprived Paris of its usual engine. The defense suffered from the same problem: Hernandez, Marquinhos, and Zaïre-Emery failed to stabilize the unit, while Pacho (3) had a very difficult match, emblematic of a back line shaken and lacking cohesion due to current absences.

Even Luis Enrique receives a 3, which is understandable given a flawed game plan, a lack of adaptability, and a PSG side that was too timid in a context that, on paper, seemed favorable (what about Ramos and Barcola?). Chevalier didn’t make any mistakes, but he also changed very little. The press ratings aren’t just an individual verdict: they highlight a real collective problem, stemming from a lack of intensity, tactical imbalance, and an inability to respond to a hungry Monaco team.
