Antoine Kombouaré, coach of FC Nantes and formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, was a guest on France TV. In particular, he was asked about the postponement of the PSG reception, to help them in their Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa (March 9-15). He also talked about Nantes’ unbeaten record, which the Parisians can aim to break.

Kombouaré: “There are some battles we just don’t fight anymore”.
I have to be very clear, because I hear everything and anything. Me, as a coach, of course that’s very disabling. We refused. FC Nantes’ first decision, and mine, was to refuse.
However, as I said, there are some battles we just don’t fight anymore. Because we knew that, even if we refused, the board of directors would decide in favor of PSG. So what we did, above all, was fight so that if we had to play 3 games in a week, we’d play the derby against Rennes on Friday.
Can’t we put up a fight against PSG today ?
We can’t compete, but against PSG, I remember the great Lyon with Aulas, or OM. When they get to the quarter-finals or semi-finals, if that helps them get to the final, so much the better. All the better for PSG, who I’m a fan of.
