On Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain faced Nantes at the Stade de la Beaujoire in a late match on Matchday 29 of the Ligue 1 2024-2025. After a match in which the Rouge et Bleu clearly played an average game, they drew 1-1 (video highlights Nantes/PSG). Here are our notes on the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Gianluigi Donnarumma (6) – Impeccable in his game. Did what little work he had to do with some fine moves.
Defenders –
Warren Zaïre-Emery (6) – A good game from him. Still a little shy in his attacking transitions, but he did well in midfield. Replaced by Gonçalo Ramos in the 63rd minute.
Marquinhos (6) – Little work, but a serious game from the captain.
Lucas Beraldo (6.5) – Seems to be making good progress. His positioning is often very good. He acted as a defensive leader in this match, even if Nantes weren’t very offensive.
Nuno Mendes (5.5) – Fairly neutral performance. A far cry from his performance against Liverpool, but his presence also enabled PSG to play more serenely. Replaced in the 62nd minute by Willian Pacho.
Midfield –
Fabian Ruiz (5) – He’s there, doing the job he’s asked to do, but nothing more. He lacked initiative in his play, but for Luis Enrique the main thing was elsewhere.
Vitinha (6) – Touched a lot of the ball, some of which he used well. He scored, but as a metronome, we’d like him to be able to change his rhythm offensively at times.
Joao Neves (6) – As usual, he fought hard, made suggestions and played very cleanly. He played on the flanks and we didn’t see as much of him in the heart of the game. But he was still there.
Attackers –
Lee Kang-in (6) – Very clean technically, he added pace to his game. Provided the decisive assist for Vitinha’s goal. Replaced by Bradley Barcola in the 63rd minute.
Ousmane Dembélé (5.5) – A little frustrating at the moment. He hasn’t shown the same level of freshness lately. He’s making more poor choices. Replaced by Désiré Doué in the 63rd minute.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (5.5) – Like Dembélé, not his best game. A little off his game in recent days, he struggled to make a difference. Replaced in the 71st minute by Senny Mayulu.
Coach –
Luis Enrique (6) – Luis Enrique in management mode. Now, apart from the invincibility, it’s hard to draw any lessons from the Ligue 1, which has already been won. Nevertheless, his team was serious, which is good.
