Paris Saint-Germain will face Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the Champions League 2024-2025 on April 9 and 15, and have asked to move the trip to Nantes scheduled between the two to the weekend of Saturday April 12 as part of Ligue 1 matchday 29. However, the Nantes club objected. The matter is not over, however, as the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has yet to make a decision. L’Equipe reports that the match has been postponed, as announced by Nantes coach Antoine Kombouaré at the weekend.

“PSG has won its case. Its Ligue 1 Matchday 29 match in Nantes, scheduled for the weekend of April 13 between the Champions League quarter-final first leg (on April 9) and second leg (on April 15) against Aston Villa, has been moved to April 22.”

After Kombouaré’s statement, there was no real doubt. The sports paper is therefore not taking any great risks here, and there are no more surprises.

We can debate the choice, with postponements that have been far from guaranteeing qualifications for different clubs in different countries in recent seasons. But PSG prefers it this way, and it’s probably not for nothing. We have to thank the clubs and the LFP for their efforts. And prove them right with a fine qualification.
