It was in a white-hot Parc des Princes that the classico between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille took place. Luis Enrique’s side returned to the Parc des Princes on Sunday evening to close out the 26th round of Ligue 1 matches, following their qualification for the Champions League quarter-finals. The jubilant fans gave the Parisians a fervent welcome, and former Parisian Adrien Rabiot a stormy reception. The Red and Blues came out on top 3-1 against the Phocéens (video highlights PSG/OM). Valentin Rongier, midfielder for the southern club, spoke to DAZN about this classic loss:
Rongier: “The goals we take, we can largely avoid”.
You tried, you pushed, but the gap was too big?
I think the score’s a bit heavy, because when you look at the way the game went, the goals we scored were largely avoidable. Tonight we’ll have to look at the match, but we had some great sequences, we put them to the test and we could have done better than that.
Did you look them in the eye?
Especially in the first half. We dominated in the first half and had more chances. We’re taking silly goals and we’ve got to keep going. We’re very disappointed.
