Fabián Ruiz (28, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder) emphasized the team spirit and collective strength of PSG in the mixed zone after the victory in the Trophée des Champions against Marseille (2–2, win on penalties). The Spaniard praised Lucas Chevalier’s performance and the united mindset that led to the success, while also addressing the work done on penalty shootouts.
Ruiz: “We know Lucas’ great quality”
“We know Lucas’ great quality. He has already shown it. And we trust him. It’s the same with Mocha (Matvey Safonov), Renato (Marin), and all the goalkeepers we have. Lucas deserves it — he’s an incredible guy who works extremely hard. I’m happy with his performance, which won us this trophy. Now we can celebrate it.”
Ruiz: “I hope we can keep winning”
“It’s true that we don’t really work on penalties. Sometimes a few players stay behind with the goalkeepers, but it’s not something we train extensively. Still, we have great goalkeepers who allow us to win these shootouts, along with the takers who scored. I hope we can keep winning. And if it has to go through penalties, that’s fine with me too! We’ll leave that in the hands of our goalkeepers, who have already brought us trophies.”
