The Ligue de Football Professionnel’s Disciplinary Committee met on Wednesday to decide on the various sanctions to be imposed following the latest matches in French professional soccer. At issue was Marquinhos, Paris Saint-Germain’s 30-year-old central defender and captain, who has picked up 3 yellow cards in less than 10 matches. He was therefore due to be automatically suspended for one match, but the LFP decided to stick with this sanction without adding a match.

A logical choice, since there was no reason to remove the penalty, which is very rare. Nor was there any reason to add to it, as Marquinhos did not behave or act in a bad way.
The Brazilian will therefore be suspended on Friday November 22 for the Ligue 1 matchday 12 against Toulouse.
