The Ligue de Football Professionnel’s Disciplinary Committee met on Wednesday to decide on the various sanctions to be imposed following the latest matches in French professional soccer. At issue was Lucas Beraldo, the 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender who picked up 3 yellow cards in a 10-match period. He was therefore due to be automatically suspended for one match, but the LFP decided to stick with this sanction without adding a match.
A logical choice, since exceptional circumstances are required for a card to be cancelled, and there was no reason for it in this case.
As the sanction is effective from Tuesday October 29, Beraldo will miss the match against Lens the following weekend at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 Matchday 10.
