Ousmane Dembélé, Paris Saint-Germain’s 27-year-old striker, has been at the heart of a media frenzy since yesterday, when he was left out of the squad for the trip to face Arsenal on Tuesday evening. But he was due to rejoin the squad this Friday once the problem had been sorted out. Except that he is absent after all, as PSG announced in a press release.

“Medical update on Ousmane Dembélé
Ousmane Dembélé reported to the training center this morning. The club’s doctors found that he was suffering from angina.
The player has been allowed to go home.
He is expected to return to training tomorrow.”
Unfortunately, Dembélé’s return has been delayed. Some may see it as a “diplomatic absence”, while PSG undoubtedly communicated to avoid doubts about a possible extension of the sanction if his absence was noticed by the media. It’s bad timing for the striker, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
