Following chants deemed homophobic during the reception of Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes (8th day of Ligue), Paris Saint-Germain was judged by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP). The committee imposed a partial closure of the Tribune Auteuil, home to the Collectif Ultras Paris, for one match.

The sanction takes effect on November 22 against Toulouse!
A sanction that raises questions and provokes debate. To have a fair line in the fight against discrimination, you can’t impose sanctions à la carte. PSG is regularly one of the main culprits. And yet, in many stadiums, you can hear these discriminatory chants.
In a fight, you have to be fair, so this closure is logical and should allow everyone to question themselves, especially when it comes to chants that may be reprehensible.
Even if it’s commonplace in soccer, we have to keep on fighting so that everyone can have a fair go. One person’s freedom ends where another’s begins.
