On Wednesday, the Ligue de Football Professionnel issued a press release announcing a new feature in Ligue 1. After the badge on the top scorer’s jersey, it’s now the turn of the top passer’s jersey, which will be worn on every matchday.
It’s an idea that everyone can either like or dislike. At least it doesn’t seem to bother anyone, and it could also be a way of honouring the player. In any case, once the badge exists for goalscorers, it’s a good thing it’s being introduced for passers too.
The first wearer will be João Neves, PSG’s 20-year-old midfielder.
