Renato Marin, the 18-year-old goalkeeper who is at the end of his contract at AS Roma, has been rumoured to be close to signing for Paris Saint-Germain, with a view to joining the Parisian squad this summer. PSG Inside Actus reported on Tuesday that the deal for the goalkeeper has indeed been finalized.
“Renato Marin, whose contract expires on June 30, 2025, will sign for PSG next season. A lot of clubs were interested in him, but he’s only AS Roma’s third goalkeeper, and even Liverpool wanted him. It will be a 5-year contract starting July 1, 2025….”
All the media agree in a short space of time, and this is often the sign that the deal is at least almost complete. All the more so for a transfer of this kind, with a player who’s rather unknown and therefore doesn’t invite any buzz.
Nevertheless, as always with rumours surrounding the mercato, we remain cautious. Only official announcements can give us any certainty, even though we’ve seen a number of twists and turns this winter.
What we’re most curious about now is the exact plan for Marin, a young goalkeeper. Could he already be a new number 2 or competitor? Or is it more likely to start with at least one loan, hoping to see him gradually confirm his potential? The second option seems the most likely, with a sale (as we saw with midfielder Cher Ndour) or a place at PSG at the end.
