On Wednesday, May 13, Paris Saint-Germain officially secured the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 title. This was thanks to a 2-0 victory against Lens at the Stade Bollaert in a rescheduled match from Matchday 29 of Ligue 1, which leaves current second-placed RC Lens too far behind for a possible comeback on the final day:
This is a great achievement for PSG, who certainly deserve their title. Of course, it’s worth noting that their budget is a major asset. But that’s not all. Daily hard work and effort in matches are essential. Especially given the strong competition from RC Lens throughout the year. Paris also deserves credit for retaining its title despite a season without a preseason, and for reaching the Champions League final on May 30th against Arsenal.
They should savor the title, as well as this entire wonderful period experienced by PSG. But they must also remain focused on the end of the season. Sunday’s match against Paris FC will be less important; the final against Arsenal could be a historic moment.
